Choosing your first dance song can be really tricky, especially if you don’t have ‘a song’. Don’t worry  – here are some top tips on how to choose the perfect First Dance song…

1) Choose something you BOTH like
This is really important as you’ll have to listen it quite a few times when practising!

2) Check how long the song lasts for
Anything over five minutes is too long! But don’t worry if your song is a long one – you can ask your DJ to cut it for you at an appropriate spot

3) Check the lyrics!
Anything mentioning being dumped, someone leaving, unrequited love or being cheated on, isn’t a great idea, however amazing the song is!

4) Choose something that suits you both as a couple
If you are the couple who are first up on the dance floor then choose an upbeat party song. If you more reserved choose then something slower!
